What to expect in a breathwork session.

Every session is different. Every person's experience is their own. What follows is a general guide so you know what to expect.

All sessions are accompanied by loud, immersive music curated specifically for conscious connected breathwork. The music gives your analytical mind something to anchor to so it can step back and let the body do its work. It also creates a private, contained space where you can breathe, move or release. Here, you're not performing for anyone. In-person sessions are held in low lighting to support the same inward focus.

Before your session.

Before we begin, I'll walk you through the technique, explain what physical sensations are common, how to pace yourself and how to slow down if you need to. You'll have space to ask questions. There's nothing you need to prepare in advance. Come as you are.

A few practical notes:

  • Eat lightly two to three hours beforehand

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing; dress in layers

  • Have water nearby

  • Virtual clients: find a quiet space where you won't be disturbed

  • In-person clients: a mat, bolster, and blankets will be provided

  • Arrive without expectations

During your session.

The session moves in two phases.

What you may experience.

Physical sensations are common and normal. These may include tingling, a dry mouth or throat (we breathe through the mouth during the active breath), temporary tightness in the hands, feet or jaw, changes in body temperature, shaking or spontaneous movement, shifts in emotion or complete stillness.

Some people feel a lot. Some feel very little. Both are valid. Both are the practice.

You're always in control.

You can slow your breath at any point. You can stop entirely. You lead your own experience. I'm here to guide and support – not to push you past your own limits.

After your session.

Take your time before returning to normal activity. There's no rush.

Self-care notes:

  • Drink water | electrolytes

  • Eat something light and grounding

  • Rest if possible

  • Avoid major decisions for a few hours post-session

  • Journal if you feel called to; and

  • A gentle walk outside can support integration.

You may feel tired, emotionally open, unexpectedly clear or simply quiet. All of these are normal. Give yourself space to land.

THE ACTIVE BREATH ~30 minutes

THE INTEGRATION ~20 minutes

I'll guide you through a continuous, circular breathing pattern – inhale active, exhale natural. Toward the end of the active breath, there's a guided vocal release. It's louder than you'd expect. It works.

The active breath completes. You return to natural nose breathing. The body settles. This is where much of the deeper processing happens.
